Our beliefs are more than just the things we believe to be true. Beliefs are the foundation of our life. They are the things that anchor us and keep us moving forward. Beliefs can also be the anchor that is tied around our neck as we are tossed into the sea of despair. As with all our thoughts and desires, beliefs can be both good and bad. They can propel us into a life of success and achievement, or they can leave us empty and broken. Here is the good news: what we choose to believe or not believe is all up to us. As author and success coach Tony Robbins said, “What we can or cannot do, what we consider possible or impossible, is rarely a function of our true capability. It is more likely a function of our beliefs about who we are.”

Our beliefs are created in many ways. Some come from what we are told about ourselves or life. Some beliefs come from the discovery of facts and experiences that tell us something is true. Other beliefs are there simply because we are told it is true and we are frankly too lazy to prove what is correct. Because of this tendency, many people live their lives believing outright lies.

Personal development is more than just believing something is true, it is having the maturity to find out for a fact if it is true. The greatest tool in forming solid and honest beliefs is a thinking mind. It is having the desire to find the truth and the will to follow that truth. Do not allow anyone who tells you that truth is subjective or it is as a person chooses to believe it. That is foolishness, and not even worthy of a success-minded person wasting their time on. Truth is truth, not partly truth or mostly truth. The truth is either all true or not true at all.

Success-minded people know that there are some absolutes in this life. There is truth and lies. There is good and evil. There is right and wrong. Just because someone does not wish to recognize this does not change it. You are welcome to believe the lies you are told, but do not think that because you or even a majority of people believe it that it is true. Everyone in the world can believe a lie, and that does not make it any less a lie.

Personal development and the achievement of your dream will not happen on its own. It takes action and that action has to happen now. Click on the Free Membership button in the side bar and start your journey to achievement today!
