When Magic Happens

Do you believe in magic?  I do.  Not the hocus pocus, make things disappear or float in the air magic.  That kind of magic is only good for parties and sit-coms.  The magic I believe in is the stuff that makes life exciting and changes everything it touches.  There is no escaping it, you will find it all around you.  Besides, why would you ever want to escape it?

The magic I believe in happens when the earth comes alive in the spring after a long winters sleep.  It is the opening of a wild flower to show colors no artist could ever mix.  It happens in the summer in warm breezes rushing through the tops of trees and the quiet whispers of a brook dancing over the rocks.          Magic fills the fall with color on every hill side and crisp evenings that smell of the harvest.  And of course, there is little magic that can compare with the soft blanket of snow on a winters morning or that the pond you swam in just months ago so hard with ice you can walk across and never get wet.

Yes, the earth is a magical place that is beyond our feeble human understanding.  Our Creator filled it with wonders of all kinds, but He also gave us something even more magical and more wonderful.  We have the power of a dream.

At first, you may not think that a dream is very magical at all.  People have dreams all the time but never see anything happen with them.  That is like looking at a hand full of corn and saying they're nothing but dries up seeds.  When they stay in your hand that is exactly what they are.  However, when you plant them in the ground, each kernel will produce a stalk of corn with 2-3 ears on it and each ear has an average of 800 kernels.  Can you create thousands of kernels of corn from just a handful of seeds?  It is magical!

The same is true with a dream.  A dream that is held in your mind for years on end is nothing but wishful thinking and that is about as useful as a pocketful of dried corn.  But if you put action to that dream; you work at it and follow it day after day, soon you will have achieved the success it promises.  That is even a greater act of magic.

Look around you, everything you see was once someone's dream.  Where did electricity, running water, clean water, flight, trains, and cars come from?  All were dreams that someone believed could magically come to reality.  As author and speaker, Tony Robbins said, "If you believe in magic, you will lead a magical life."

Nothing is impossible for the person who believes in the power of magic.  When you believe in the power and wonder of your dreams there is nothing - I repeat - nothing you cannot achieve.  The universe is full of undiscovered wonders and if you are willing to work and believe, they can be discovered by you.  Yes, YOU!!

Someone will one day discover a cure for cancer.  Why not you?  Someone will discover how to produce clean water in under developed countries.  Why not you?  Someone will one day develop cheap, renewable fuels that can power anything.  Why not you?  There are yet to be discovered, invented and produced wonders that are so impossible for us now that few can even think of what they could be.  Someone is going to do it because someone has always done it.  So why not allow that someone be you?

God created us with the power to create, the power to think and the power to dream.  If we have the Creator of the universe behind us, how can we fail?  I believe in magic because I believe in the potential of all human beings.  I believe in you.  I believe that you can do far more than you ever thought possible.  I believe you are magical.
