4 Ways to Achieve Revenge
As a writer,
I have always said that the one thing you must adjust to quickly is
rejection. You get rejected by
publishers, companies, friends and family and more. This is not a unique experience to
writers. In fact, anyone who has a dream
and who are pursuing success will find rejection. The thing is not to allow the rejection to
defeat or discourage you but rather make it the gas on your fire for
achievement.
When I am talking of revenge
here I do not mean ways we can hurt someone back who has hurt us. That is childish, and shows a lack of
character. However, we can prove that
others are mistaken about our abilities.
There is a great satisfaction in knowing that you can stand before all
those who said you would not make it; that you were wasting your time; that you
were foolish, impractical or out and out crazy, as a success.
"The best revenge is massive success."
- Frank Sinatra
(1915-1998)
Singer/Performer
Here are four acts of revenge
that all success-minded people look forward to and that can do more in the
lives of those who hurt you or did not believe in you than just striking back
at them.
#1 Achieve Your Dreams
There is simply no greater
revenge than to do the very thing you were told you could not do. When you have proven the critics wrong, you
end the conversation. Critics cannot tell
you that you can't do it - you DID do it. That is a wonderful and very powerful
feeling.
#2 Be the Best at What You Do
It is one thing to achieve your
goal, but if you really want to show the unbelievers in your life what can be
done, be the best at it. The desire to
be the best is not an ego or hurtful thing.
If you are the best it is never because you made others look less
capable or you did things to step on others.
It is because you have committed to work hard, learn all you can and
develop your skills to the place that you are the very best you can be. Remember that to be the best does not mean
you are better than anyone else.
#3 Have Great Character
If your desire to show your
critics that you can succeed leads you to be dishonest, cruel, manipulative or
selfish, they have won. To be a success
is to be successful in all of life. That
comes by becoming a person of integrity and good character. That your reputation is not one of how good
you do a thing but of how good you are as a person.
#4 Offer Help to Those Who Did Not Believe in You
One of the best things you can
do to those who did not believe in you; who discouraged you, or who refused to
help you on your journey to success is to offer to help them succeed. Nothing will stop someone who has been unkind
faster than kindness. How great is it to
show those who did not believe you could succeed, how to succeed?
Remember that success is not
based on what happens to you in life but on what you do with what happens to
you in life. Allow the disbelief and
disappointment from others make you a better person, not an angry person. As Thomas Carlyle once said, “Make yourself
an honest man, and then you may be sure that there is one less scoundrel in the
world.”
Personal development and the achievement of your dream will not happen on
its own. It takes action and that action has to happen now. Click on the Free
