Setting Health Goals

Tony Robbins said, “You don’t want to run out of gas half way up the hill of success.” Success takes a lot of work and one really needs to be healthy and strong to do their best. Robbins went on to say, “The higher your energy level, the more efficient your body. The more efficient your body, the better you feel and the more you will use your talents to produce outstanding results.”  Good health, a high energy level, and a positive attitude will take you all the way to the top.

Far too many success-minded people forget the area of health when setting goals. They see the work success calls for and the time and energy it requires but they never think of the toll that success can take on their health. Health expert A.J. Reb Materi said, “So many people spend their health gaining wealth, and then have to spend their wealth to regain their health.” How much better it is to be health conscious at the start and develop healthy habits that will pay off in the end.

Health goals are things like:

• Diet
• Exercise
• Sleep
• Healthy habits
• Yearly checkups
• Visits to the doctor or a health expert
• Understanding and following alternative methods of healthy living
• Exercise program or gym membership
• Breaking of unhealthy habits like smoking, too much alcohol, the use of recreational drugs, and overeating

Keeping healthy is more than just something good to do. Your life depends on it. Success means nothing if you’re hospitalized or dead. Think of getting ready for success as preparing for a triathlon.

You have to disciple yourself and work months before the event or you will never make it to the end. Be good to yourself. As Jim Rohn said, “Take care of your body. It’s the only place you have to live.”
