Choosing Your Master
"What worries
you, masters you."

I knew a
young and very talented woman who I will call Sarah. Sarah was very gifted with the ability to
paint. Her art was very good and she
loved the time she could spend with a canvas and brushes. Sarah worked in a local hospital, but felt
her job held her back and no matter what she did, in her heart she was
painting. Sarah was also filled with
fear. She feared what people would think
of her if she did her painting as a career.
She feared the rejection of her family who thought her love for painting
was a waste of time. Sarah was a
prisoner to fear.
So many people are like this
dear woman. They have a dream, a dream that
they love and find to complete them, however, they allow worry and fear to
override their dream and hold them prisoner to a mediocre life. It is tragic to see talented people who treat
their abilities as if they were something to be ashamed of. They indulge in their dreams in secret and
hold back any passion or hope to live within the dream.
Success-minded people need to
understand that you belong to the things you allow to dominate your
thoughts. If that be fear and worry,
they you will be a slave to fear and worry.
If you allow your thought to be positive, creative and inspiring you
will live a positive, creative and inspiring life. The choice is always your.
The problem is that 99% of worry
is about things we "think" will happen, not on things that do or have
happened. The mind can only respond to
what is fed into it. When you create worries
over things that do not exists your mind will respond with fear and all the
emotional turmoil that comes from stress and worry. For what?
I love the words of the late Corrie ten Boom who said, "Worry does
not empty tomorrow of its sorrows. It
empties today of its strengths."
Go after your dreams with all
the confidence and courage you need to succeed.
What does it matter if others do not see it the same way as you, after
all, it is your dream. Never, never,
never allow someone else, no matter who they are, to seal your dream. The power to make that dream come true
belongs to you and that is a mighty power to have.
