Imagine That
Let’s play make-believe!
Use your imagination and think of who you would be if all your dreams come
true. How would you act? How would you talk and think? How would you treat
others and be treated by them? What would you have, where would you live, how
would you spend your day? Can you do this?
For many of us “adults,” this familiar child’s game is tough to do. We
have not used our imagination for a long time. That is a pity to be sure. Your
imagination is essential to your success in life. Albert Einstein, always known
for his brilliant mind, said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge.”
Why is that? Isn’t learning and the building of knowledge more important?
“First comes thought;
then organization of that thought into ideas and plans; then transformation of
those plans into reality. The beginning,
as you will observe, is in your imagination.”

Look at the world we live in. It is filled with wonders and technology
that only dreamed a few short years ago. Where did they come from? They came
from the imagination of success-minded people like you. All things start as a
dream, a thought, or a wild idea in someone’s mind. Motivational speaker Brian
Tracy said, “All successful people, men and women, are big dreamers. They
imagine what their future could be, ideal in every respect, and then they work
every day toward their distant vision, that goal or purpose.” Success-minded people
dared to dream, to ask “what if” and then answered the question. Imagination is
the start of all great things, and without it, there is no invention.
Have you ever thought of something, and one day you see it on a market
shelf? You thought you could have won with that idea had you done something.
You are right. The only difference between your idea and the other guys is he
acted on it first. He believed in his dream and you just woke up from yours.
Take the time to pretend. Imagine what you could do and then do it. Take
action and make your dreams a reality. Success-minded people are going to make
things better, change the world, or build a better mousetrap; it might as well
be you. As President Donald Trump said, “If you’re going to dream anyway, you
might as well dream big.”
“God can do anything, you know - far more than you could ever imagine
or guess or request in your wildest dreams!
He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, His Spirit
deeply and gently within us.” – Ephesians 3:20 (Message)
