When All Hope is Gone

"Most of the important things in the world were accomplished by people who have kept
trying when there seemed to be no hope at all."
- Dale Carnegie
(1888-1955) American Author/Speaker

After being face with their many failures, what do you think the world would be like if Thomas Edison, the Wright Brothers, Madam Curie, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates or Michael Dell had just give up?  We have all faced setbacks in life and pushed on, however, each of these people faced real and total failure and yet kept going.  But what if they did not?  Would we be in a world without electric lights, X-ray or email?  The answer is no.  Why?  Because someone else would have discovered them.

Look around you, all that you see was created because someone, a fellow human, had an idea and worked that idea till they found the answers they sought.  We were created to create.  When you think of how far mankind has advanced and all the discoveries we have had it can be overwhelming.  Add to this the fact that we really have not even started to tap our true potential.  There is really no such thing as impossible.

So what makes the difference between those who have made great discoveries and those who live life with nothing to show for it.  Is it intelligence and education?  No, many of the greatest discoveries have been made by people of little of limited education.  Is it money and power?  No, again, most of the discoveries were made by people who had nothing at the time of their achievement and had no real power or influence at all.  The common key is the fact that they never gave up and to quit was never an option.

I do not tell you this so you will look at the great inventors, thinkers, businesspeople and adventurers and admire their ability to stay with their dreams.  I tell you this because YOU can be among those who have changed the world.  Believe it or not, if you have a dream, you have all that is needed to change the world as we know it and make it better.  I know you think this is just more motivational, pie-in-the-shy talk to get you going, but it is really true.

Here is a challenge if you do not believe me.  Take a bit of time and Google the names of every inventor, businessperson, writer, artist and accomplished person you know.  Limit your search to those who have achieved in the areas that you desire to achieve in and are gifted in.  See who they were as people and what they did to achieve their dreams.  You will discover them to be not so different than you are.  Stealing a line from the classic movie, The Muppets Take Manhattan, "Peoples is peoples".  What others have achieved, you can achieve as well.

One of the reason I do what I do is because I never know who God will allow to cross my path.  As a life coach, writer, trainer and speaker, I have an opportunity to touch the lives of many people.  My purpose is to help others discover their purpose and help them to find the way to achieve it.  I never know if the man or woman who comes to me or reads my material is the next great achiever that the world has been waiting for.  That could be you!  You could be the one to discover the cure for cancer or to reach Mars or to find the answer to many of the world's challenges.

All the answers are out there waiting for someone to discover them.  Waiting for you to discover them.  Orville Wright once said, "Isn't it astonishing that all these secrets have been preserved for so many years just so we could discover them!"  He and his brother Wilbur did not invent the principles of aviation, they only discovered what was there all along.  You too can make that kind of a discovery.  It is more than you will not know until you try.  You will not know if you give up.  So don't give up.
