Bigger The Better
"The great danger
for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short,
but in setting our aim
too low and achieving our mark."
- Michelangelo
(1475-1564) Artist
Where in the
world did this limited, fearful and restrictive thinking that you should not
take risks come from? I understand that
we want to be safe and security is important to many, however, if the heroes of
old thought like we do today, we would still be living in huts eating
bugs. I will confess, this type of
thinking makes me crazy!
There are many reasons that
people become fearful and unwilling to take any risks. They keep their thoughts and eyes on the
turmoil and problems of the world around them.
They see an economy that is in trouble and a job market that is in the toilet. They listen to the voices around them that
tell them to be practical, sensible, and not to think too highly about
themselves. They allow those who would
keep them down to have control of their lives and to seal their dreams from
them.
It is time for all
success-minded people to stand up and fight back. How do we fight back? By once again believing in the power of a
dream. By once again allow our hearts to
lead us to the very thing we were created to do. We take risks, dream big and do the
impossible. We defy the negative
thinkers and the ones who would keep us down.
Success-minded people must
experience a revival of adventure and daring.
If we fail at something, so what.
We learn, grow and move on to success.
Nothing is gained by standing still.
Nothing is achieved by waiting for a later time. Nothing moves forward when you allow others
to let the air out of your tires. As the
great Wayne Gretzky said, "You miss 100% of the shots you don't
take."
Dream big my friends. Dream very big. Go for the top. Forget the small stuff and never settle for
mediocre. Go for it all and go in a big
way. Only then will we overcome the
limited thinking and restrictive mentality of the world we live in. Your courage and persistence will give
courage to others. Your willingness to
win will give hope and strength to those who have been sitting on a dream far
too long.
Let the success revolution
begin. Nothing is for free and it is not
easy, but then, revolution never is. Be
the best and forget the rest. Take back
the American spirit of success from those who have watered it down and made it
look cowardly. You are an adventurer and
the very one who will move us forward.
You are a hero and a fighter. You
cannot dream too big a dream; and if you can dream it - you can achieve
it. I believe in you!
