Believing You Can Do the Wonderful
" Someday you
will be old enough to start reading fairy tales again."

Have you ever seen Cirque du Soleil? If not, I highly suggest that you go to a
show, rent a DVD or somehow become exposed to this marvelous display of talent
and wonder. I have never seen anything
so inspiring and mysterious in my life.
This is a group of some of the most talented, athletic, and courageous
performers to ever hit a stage. Beyond
the great performance and wonderful music that they give, I could not help but
thinking, these people do not know the term, "It cannot be done."
In life we face many struggles and difficulties. The challenges we face, in all lines of work,
are beyond any that we faced before.
However, that is not the real struggle we must face. The real battle is believing that the
impossible can be done.
What ever happened to our ability to believe in the wonder and mystery of
life? As children we could
believe in fairies, dragons, heroic quests for great treasure and the magic of
the impossible. Yes, we grew up and came
to believe that there were no fairies or dragons. We stopped believing in magic and
legends. What we also lost was the
ability to believe the impossible. We
thought we were being logical, reasonable and adult in our thinking and all
along we were becoming dead and empty.
Yet,
there were and are many success-minded people who did believe in wonder and
that impossible things were only impossible to those who did not believe in the
power of possibility. Those who believed
that man could fly, that the human heart could be transplanted, that people
could walk on the moon and that an ordinary, everyday, person could in fact
achieve the extraordinary.
It is not such a long shot to believe in magic. Not the hocus-pocus kind of magic that gives
you what you want without any work, but the magic that everyday people perform
every day. It is the magic that allows a
dream to become reality. It is the magic
that says, this can be done if we find the way to do it - and them find that
way. It is the magic that believes that
we were created for greatness. After
all, we were created in the image and likeness of a Creator who thrived on the
impossible.
What challenge do you face that is just out and out impossible? Are you willing to face that challenge with
the belief that you can do this? No
excuses. Excuses only weaken and defeat
us. Losers have excuses. Winners have answers. As Benjamin Franklin said, "He who is
good at making excuses is good at very little else."
The first step in achieving the impossible is believing that you can. It is in developing the ability to once again
see wonder in the world. To look for the
amazing and extraordinary all around you.
Open your eyes to what has been achieved by those who never believed
that it cannot be done. Then, take a
deep breath; put a smile on your face; stand up tall and make magic happen.
