Heroes Roam the Earth
"Heroes are never perfect, but they're brave, they're
authentic, they're courageous,
determined, discreet, and they've got grit."

I believe in
heroes. I grew up in a day when we had
heroes all around us. Some were pretend,
like cowboys, adventurers and Super Heroes.
Some were very real like soldiers, sailors and astronauts. The thing heroes all had in common was that
they were good, wholesome, brave, and always did what was right. Many of the people have changed, however, the
qualities of a true hero has not.
Somewhere along the way we
started to make the villains the heroes.
Society holds us those who are immoral, dishonest and behave badly as
the examples for our young to see. Those
who, do to their position in life, should be the examples of right and good and
examples of getting away with wrong and teachers of corruption and dishonesty.
However, there are still heroes
in the land. Every now and then we stop
to check ourselves and make sure we can still see them. We have special events, like this Veteran's
Day, were we recognize that some have willing stepped into the heroes circle
and shown that right is still alive. I
am so thankful that in spite of all the wrong we may see around us, we can
still find heroes everywhere.
Take time this special day to
honor these heroes. Also, allow the fire
to be rekindled in us that we once again place the value of hero qualities in
our society. May we stand for what is
right, good and wholesome and fight the evils of dishonesty, corruption and
wickedness. The only hope for our
society is not our government or our sports and entertainment figures.
It is the common hero who is around every corner and who is still worthy
of our honor and respect.
