Personal Development and Thinking Well
Believe it or not, your mental diet is more important than
your physical diet. Why? Because it will influence everything you think and do in
life. A poor mental attitude will be reflected in poor health, as well as in poor communication. If you are thinking
correctly and maintain a positive mental attitude, you will do what is right
for your body and your mind. After all, what good is it if you are in great
physical shape and yet have a rotten attitude?
A good mental attitude is when you are positive about life
and your future. It shows itself when you face challenges and know there are answers
to every problem and that, no matter what happens in life, you will come out on
top. Success-minded people with a healthy mental attitude are optimistic,
cheerful and energized. They are ready to meet the challenges of life and greet
them with excitement and the expectation of victory. Author and businessman W.
Clement Stone said, “There is little difference in people, but that little
difference makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude. The big
difference is whether it is positive or negative.”
We feed our minds in many ways. Your brain is always at
work and is highly sensitive to all that is around. Every experience you have,
every sound you hear, even every smell you smell is stored up in your mind. Have
you ever entered a room and caught a smell that made you five years- old in
your grandmother’s kitchen again? We have all had those experiences. How many
times have you been on the street and a car go by with the radio blasting a
song that takes you back to your teen years?
It only takes one quick sight, sound or smell to trigger
the wonderful computer we know as our mind.
Many of us tend to think that we are forgetful. The truth
is, you never really forget anything. It may not be right there where you can
quickly bring it up and use it, but it is there. It does not matter if an
experience is good or bad; we store them all, and we can learn from them all.
If we store all the things we learn and experience in our
daily lives, wouldn’t it make sense to purposely put things in our minds? To develop
a healthy and positive mind, you have to deliberately feed it the right stuff.
That means paying attention to what you see, hear and read. Many times, just by
not paying attention, we can poison our thoughts by allowing negative and
damaging music, movies and other input to fill us.
Just as you have to pay attention to what you eat, you
also have to pay attention to what you feed your mind. The more encouraging, motivating,
and stimulating the input you feed your mind, the more creative, positive, and
productive your thinking will be. In short, if you want to be more creative, be
a better problem solver, and think more clearly, feed your brain the stuff it
needs to achieve that.
Personal development and the achievement of your dream will not happen on
its own. It takes action and that action has to happen now. Click on the Free
