Wake Up!
We have all heard
the sales pitch.“You can make millions in your spare time.” That on a part-time
basis, you can make enough money to retire at 40. Here is the news flash – it
is not true. No one knows that better than those who bought into it and found
that they still have not gained anything.
Can people in
multi-level marketing or direct sales (those who use this line the most) make
money? They can make millions. You can succeed, and the money is there. What
you cannot do is succeed in your spare time. Success takes work, full time, and
hard work. Success-minded people know that there is a price to pay for success,
and unless you are willing to pay that price, you will not reap the fruits of
success.
“Some men dream of
worthy accomplishments, while others stay awake and do them.”

It is a lazy mindset
that attracts people to the idea of easy money. They are unwilling to work and
put forth the effort to succeed, so they play the lottery or find a
get-rich-quick scheme thinking that there is easy money to be found. There is
no easy money. No free lunch. As Thomas J. Watson, former president of IBM,
said, “If you want to be a big company tomorrow, you have to start acting like
one today.”
Success-minded people
are those who know their dreams and are willing to take action to achieve them.
Artist Pablo Picasso said, “Action is the foundational key to all success.”
Nothing happens without action. Once action stops, so does success. This is why
the idea of retirement is so dangerous. Oh, I just stepped on a lot of toes
with that one. This is a topic for another time, but let me say that when we
stop working – we stop. Man was not created to be useless. We were made for
action.
Stop looking for the
easy way. People who are not achievers try to find the easiest way to success,
and they never seem to find the happiness they seek in life. Be a success-minded
person, roll up your sleeves, and get to work. Hard work gives us a feeling of
achievement, confidence, and we are significant. When we have earned our
success, the rewards are sweeter, we hold them with higher value, and we enjoy
the self-respect of a person who reaches a goal on his or her own. Success
always tastes sweeter when made by our own hands.
