Seeing Life Differently
"It's not what
you look at that matters, it's what you see."
- Henry David Thoreau

The fact is
we all live in the same world. All the
events, good and bad, affect us all.
There is nothing that happens that does not touch or change the world
you and I live in. So why is it that
some people see the world as a terrible place filled with sadness and
restriction. Some see it as a place of
hope and freedom and others just ignore it all together?
There are two powerful forces
that effect the way we see our world.
One is attitude. Those who have a
positive attitude believe they will come out on top no matter what
happens. They have hope and know that
they were created to win. Another is
that of the negative person. They
believe that they will lose in the end and nothing good will come to them. These are the "It always happens to
me" and "Nothing ever works out for me" people. The last are the people who just choose to be
ignorant to life and live in a nothing world and do not care. This is the life of the zombies of our
age. The saddest of all imprisonments.
We however are of the first
group. As success-minded people we
choose to believe that there is hope and we will achieve our dreams. So what can we do to encourage this type of
thinking and build our lives toward greatness?
Here are a few things that will move you forward and anchor you into the
place of success in life.
Use your imagination
Imagination is not the place of
fantasy and pretending, it is the place of ideas and discovery. The great Albert Einstein said, "Imagination
is more important than knowledge." Allow
your imagination to run wild and developed many ideas that will move you
forward. Remember that if a goal is not
impossible it is not worth having. Use
your imagination as a tool and build your future with it.
Believe the impossible
The only successful people are
those who decide to believe that they could do the impossible. The great explorer, Sir Edmond Hillary said,
"No one decides to be extraordinary.
They are ordinary people who do extraordinary things." Be a person who believes that you were born
to be great and you can do the extraordinary.
For the success-minded person, impossible is just a work for their
dreams.
Keep an open mind
Keeping an open mind does not
mean that you have an open hole in your head.
For some reason we have come to believe that open-mindedness is believing
anything. That is far from true. There are many absolutes in life. There is good and evil, right and wrong. The open minded person understands that there
are wonderful way to achieve good and right, but they also understand that bad
and evil are never an option.
Have the courage to be you
You are special and unique in
many ways. You were created to fulfill a
purpose and to do something of importance.
Believe in yourself and that God made you for greatness and He has given
you the dream that is in your heat. Have
the courage not be like everyone else or like those you love or fear. Be you.
You are great. As the wonderful
Dr. Seuss said, "Today you are you!
That is truer than true! There is
no one alive who is you-er than you!."
